We’re back with another episode of the Getting In Series: 2025 Edition — an event series where we meet some of the most outstanding students from Central Asia who’ve made it into top-100 universities around the world.
This week, we’re diving into Eldar’s story—a student from Kyrgyzstan who earned a spot at MIT, one of the world’s most prestigious STEM institutions. Passionate about mathematics since Grade 6, Eldar has received dozens of gold, silver, and bronze medals at both national and international Math Olympiads.
Eldar is also experienced at competitive coding, and he even created his own AI-based project. At MIT, he plans to combine his Mathematics and Computer Science interests, a perfect place to do so!
At the event, Eldar will talk about what it’s like to go through MIT’s unique application portal and interview process, writing lots of compelling essays, including his personal statement, and how to ultimately build a strong Math & CS-focused application.
